We have been contacted by many people looking for volunteer positions at an Eco Lodge. The idea of creating this jobs/volunteers center was born from that seed. Here you will find volunteer positions offered and and volunteer positions wanted.

Volunteers Wanted

Sankiliba Eco Lodge in The Gambia, West Africa
Description: We need a lot of different things built and worked on at the Lodge. This includes fencing, cleaning the grounds, painting the cottages, and plumbing work. As well as installing solar panels, and a green house. Most of all we need a manager to help us raise money to complete the Eco Lodge. We will offer free housing for volunteers.

Help getting Eco Lodge Built
Description: We are in the building stage of our Eco Resort in the south of Chile and need volunteers for: Building self-sustainable cabins; permaculture gardening; and, greenhouse gardening. We have a beautiful cabin already on site for volunteers.

Reforestation of land
Description: Looking for volunteers who are interested in ecotourism.  Volunteers will spend 1-4 weeks working on reforestation of the land.  All efforts are combined with getting to know the elephants with initiatives to take elephants out of captivity and to live in their natural habitat.

Conserve Wildlife with Arcas
Description: The Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Association (ARCAS) is a Guatemalan NGO working to conserve endangered wildlife and its habitat in Guatemala. Its paid volunteer program helps support these conservation efforts. At its Wildlife Rescue Center in Peten, volunteers are needed to feed and care for confiscated wildlife, including parrots, macaws, howler and spider monkeys, kinkajous, taras, ocelots, margays, deer and coatimundis. At its mangrove and sea turtle project in the area of Hawaii on the Pacific coast, volunteers assist in the conservation of olive ridley and leatherback sea turtles, conducting nightly beach patrols, collecting eggs and taking research data.

Volunteers needed for a community ecotourism project
The small community of Piedra Blanca is found on the western slopes of Ecuador’s Andes, some 7 hours from Quito, and 4 hours from Guayaquil. The village has recently developed a community owned ecotourism project that seeks volunteers with a background in tourism, ecotourism or sustainable development. Volunteers are needed to help manage and oversee tourism operations and advise the local people how to improve the tourist’s experience. A potential volunteer would also get involved in marketing both the village in addition to the region as a whole, which has much untapped tourism potential.This is an unpaid, challenging and highly rewarding position that might last anything from 2 months upwards to a year. You must be proactive, mature, enthusiastic and speak at least an intermediate level of Spanish. You will need to cover the costs ($10 a day) of your food and lodging, and you will live with the Ecuadorean family of the president of CRACYP, a local NGO involved in various grass routes sustainable development projects in the region.
