We came to Eco Paraiso to relax and to enjoy some
solitude. The bird watching was so enjoyable that we did not
spend much time lying around in the hammocks. The resort's setting
is superb, the cabañas are private and comfy, and the
staff are incredibly helpful. We took a trip with Alex Dzib,
the staff nature guide and we were most impressed with his skills
in the field. Not only did we see nearly all the endemic species,
we also were treated to a vast array of other tropical species.
Alex knows all the great birding spots and the important aspects
of natural history and local history, too. Right down to where
to get the best ceviche in town. Everyone associated with the
resort was helpful and accommodating, even to the point of helping
us to make reservations elsewhere in Mexico as we were leaving.
We highly recommend Hotel Eco Paraiso as a great destination
for a quiet getaway, or for some thoroughly engaging tropical
bird watching. Thanks!
We'll be back....

Liebe Frau Gerber Die zwei Tage in Celestun bleiben
unvergesslich!!
Vielen herzliche
Dank!

We spent two days of our Yucatan tour in Ecoparaiso
Xixim and it was perhaps one of our most memorable times ever.
The location was breathtaking, the staff helpful and simpatico,
a superb & knowledgable guide in Alex, few other guests and
great facilities. We hope to return and hope the long & rocky
road to the hotel never gets paved over! The little natural
history
museum in reception is just one of the unusual touches. The
fishing village of Celestun is well worth a long visit as well.

Eco Paraiso was the highlight of our Yucatan tour.
The flamingos, the quiet but colourful town and harbour life,
the beach shells, fox, raccoon and coati and lots more provided
something for everyone. The staff were charming and the food excellent.
For the specialist birder Alex puts on a spotlessly professional
tour of local endemics and waterbird spectacles. If its there
he will find it.

Together with another couple we spent five days/four
nights (March 9-13, 2002) in your lovely Xixim resort. We had
an unforgettable time in this pristine part of the world. The
cottages we stayed in were very attractive and the service of
the staff was A-1. We took three excursions to the Celestun Reserve
and admired the beautiful nature, the bright orange flamingos,
the great number of other birds and during our night trip, the
crocodilies. Your guide, Alejandro Zib was superb. Not only is
this young man extremely knowledgable but in addition he was just
great company. We believe that to really see the bird life well
, one has to start at the hotel not later than 6 am which we fortunately
did. The estuary at that time is just mind buggling and so is
the fauna. We also made very long walks on the extensive beach
. All in all its was a great experience which we enjoyed to the
fullest. Hopefully this beautiful setting will be preserved for
ever.
