We had the time of our lives at Delfin. First of all, none of
the photos I've seen do justice to the Osa Peninsula. Just one
of the great places on earth. And the spirit of Delfin is magical.
Sierra, Gerry, Eduardo, Simone, Roy -- they were all terrific in
every way. My family never likes to go places where the staff bows
and scrapes, and we thought the staff at Delfin did the best job
we've ever seen of giving guests everything they need without ever
for a second playing the master-servant game that demeans everybody.
The people of Delfin are doing jobs they love, they are there in
the tropics for a reason that's bigger than tourism, and yet they
manage to give their guests a great time and make them feel like
they are part of the place they are staying in. Stephen Tolkin,
Creator and Producer of Summerland.
Arriving at Delfin Amor is an experience
in itself and only a prelude to a wonderful time. The flight on
Sansa Airlines from the airport is breathtakingly beautiful while
flying over the mountains to the small landing strip at Drake Bay.
Then a short ride to the beach to pick up the boat for the trip
across the bay to Delfin just prepares you for a memorable time.
Staff greats you at the beach and escorts you to your cabina which
is well appointed. Tile floors, nice bathroom with shower, screened
shutters, comfortable beds, all make the cabina comfortable. Add
the sounds of the
jungle from monkeys, macaws, numerous other birds, crickets, etc
combined with the light ocean waves lapping at the beach, wonderful
fresh air, and it all makes for an absolutely grand experience.
I have stayed at many 5 star hotels with their elaborate produced
ambiance. In my mind they hold nothing to the beauty of a place
like Delfin which relies on what is natural and working within
what you are allowed in such an atmosphere to make for a quality
experience. I saw hundreds of Dolphins, some Humpback Whales,
Marlin, Sea Turtles,; and snorkeled with every color
of fish probably known to man; and loved to watch the flight of
macaws and formations of pelicans flying overhead near the coast.
Inland we saw turkey, coatamundi, many lizards, crabs, and various
other animals living their life.
I guess the ultimate question for a tourist is would I return.
My answer would be a resounding YES! What more could you ask
for than a great environment, wonderful hosts, good accommodations,
and great food. If anyone would like more information, I will
be glad to discuss it with you.

Greetings from the north,
Please know what an absolutely perfect time we had last week at your lodge. Every
thing was simply perfect in every way and we miss you all terribly. We have
never been to such a totally beautiful and relaxing place with such caring
people. We felt a part of your family if only for 3 days and will never forget
you. Swimming with the dolphins was the absolute high light of our whole trip
for Roy and for me it was watching them (dolphins) and him (Roy). There is
no way to thank you all for your love and hospitality to us and your obvious
love for your great environment there. We thank you all (a little special thank
you to Guide Roy for seeing me safely through the jungle) and to Beverly for
being there for us at every turn. With love to you all.
Roy and Jean G.
Hello Sierra and wonderful crew!
My nephew Brad, and I have been home now for approx one month and
how we miss the serenity and beauty of your lovely piece of the
world! We have decided that we would like to visit again perhaps
during the 'high' season, maybe next year. If I have not already
told you this, let me say how incredible your staff and guides
were. I never would have thought we would get gourmet meals in
the jungle, but to our delight the food was magnificent! Our
guides were very knowledgable, and warm, wonderful and fun people...
we cannot say enough good things about everyone there. The time
spent at Delfin Amor Lodge helped me tremendously to heal from
a very painful loss of a wonderful partner who succumbed to cancer
in February. He would have been in awe of the many beautiful
whales we saw, the many white faced monkeys, and seeing the scarlet
macaws fly overhead trailing their long bright tail feathers...
I am so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to get so
many incredible photos.!
What you are doing at Delfin Amor Lodge and Drake Bay is most admirable.
I wish you all the best of luck in the future, and I hope to see
you again soon.
