The Jungle Resort is easily the most excellent accommodation in the Sandakan area. Most impressive is the friendly demeanor and hospitality of the Lodge’s administration and employees, as well as the unique quality of the rooms and landscaped area.

This is our 2nd visit here (we were only here a week ago), this time for a week. You can’t beat the hospitality of Mrs. Lim – I am not quiet sure how I will cope without her! We have felt totally at home, fed well, treated wonderfully in beautiful surroundings- sheer heaven. I am sad to leave this tropical paradise – a little corner of heaven (adopt American accent). No air cond on the balconies though….only joking, that was only a dream – this place is perfect. We have had a lovely time and will surely come back. We have been travelling through Asia for the last nine months – no where have we felt so welcome and well looked after as here. Good luck with everything and we wish you all the success for the future.

For the independent travelers,

This place is really something special, apart from the amazingly beautiful surroundings you find yourself in, there are also some very interesting, special people here for you to enjoy, conversate, learn from and generally experience life with, in a way you won’t often find during the hectic travelling you are doing. So please take some time, days or weeks if you can, meet the staff, all of them, they are brilliant people, the family of John, and Robert the chef. I am leaving some names out but take your time, talk your head off, they will listen and go to the Saturday Night ‘Disco’. In big inverted comma “DISCO” with the local workers who have also made this Resort ….paradise. What it is today, along with a great vision of peace and relaxation from the owners! Eat the food here, drink the beer…m.m.m.m. Those Danish and their Carlsberg, can’t get enough!

So live out your holiday through and with all these lovely surroundings and people you find yourself with! If you have taken the time to read all of this, that means you have excellent potential in your travels, if you actually follow what I have suggested, you will have an absolutely wicked time in the Resort.

Myself and my partner, Donna, have traveled extensively around the world, independently, over 50 countries between us, and we now consider Sabah, Borneo in the top 3, a hard act to follow for sure.
