Kingfisher Ecolodge Reviews

Kingfisher Ecolodge in Laos
27 April 2006
I thought I would write you a quick email in my lunchbreak now that I am, unfortunately back to work in the office.

I have just visited the Kingfisher website again, and it has brought back very fond memories.

Both myself and Lee would like to thank yourself, your wife, and Boualy for sharing your beautiful part of the world with us. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and our time with you was perfect. The only regretable part of our stay was leaving! We felt there was so much else to do.

It is very rare today to experience the peace and tranquility that is offered at your Ecolodge, the care taken to limit the human impact on the environment is an example to us all and we will be following your advise on saving water, as here in Kent we currently have a water shortage due to 3 years of dry winters.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day trek and will look back fondly at the experience in years to come. We are both of the opinion that we experienced something very special over the 2 days, witnessing ecotourism in the area developing. It was very special to be able to stay at the Chief's house at Ta Ong village, a real insight into their way of life. Boualy was an excellent guide and through his translation were able to achieve greater communication with the Laos people. His immense enthusiasm for the environment and his people, his thirst for knowledge, was overwhelming, i think he has an awful lot of potential.

I think in summary I would say that Kingfisher Ecolodge has everything to offer for the visitor to Laos. Beautiful surroundings with every comfort in the rooms, good food, and also to be able to relax in a calm atmosphere and contemplate how wonderful our world is and how we all need to take a part in protecting it.

We wish you every success Massimo and cannot wait to visit again soon, Boualy has promised me spectacular birdwatching at the Bunyan tree!
kind regards
Dawn and Lee (UK)
