This is a lovely homestay about an hour outside of Kumily and Periyar, in the village of Kuttikkanam. It is run by Matthew, who is an accomplished cook and gracious host. The house is very modern yet charming, and the rooms are spotless. Would recommend if you are looking for something off the beaten track.

We stayed 2 nights at Mundax. It is a lovely place in a very relaxing surrounding. The rooms are in best shape (very new, clean and totally western standard). The atmosphere is familiar and the owner is a very friendly and understanding man who has really seen a lot of the world. We had two interesting evenings with delicious food at his place. I can truely recommend this homestay to people who would like to spend some days offside the main tourist route in a familiar atmosphere.
